True North

At True North Gear®, we know tough tools are essential for tough jobs. And your job is one of the toughest. That’s why founder Alyx Fier started building rugged, groundbreaking gear in his garage in 1992. His work began with an idea and a home sewing machine after he learned how fire gear wasn’t being designed around the specialised needs of the crews who actually used it. Fier also knew that fit and design issues were causing back problems for wildland firefighters, and he thought he could make a difference with his brand of intelligently-designed packs and gear. That’s how the company was born.Nearly three decades later, we’ve grown into a multi-brand company that distributes ISO 9001 registered products around the world. Even with our growth, we continue to be a family owned company, operated out of Seattle, Washington, and just up the street from that garage where it all began.Throughout the years we’ve remained focused on our mission of keeping our customers at the center of everything that we do. We regularly ask for and harness user feedback to create brand new designs or improve upon current products. Designing dependable, high-performance gear is the way we support your valuable work in life-risking environments each and every day.

“Beast” Rolling Duffel

The “Beast” Rolling Duffel is as extreme as your world with the unique, self-supporting design that won’t fall over no matter how heavy you pack it. From the countless miles of travel came ideas for more improvements to this work-horse. The biggest change is the folding-foot design so the bag packs down smaller for storage when you’re not using it. Long 2-stage handle for easier pulling and new high-performance wheels give a smoother ride and crisper handling. Improved frame with integrated, molded foot that allows the bag to stand upright with even the heaviest loads. For additional protection, reinforcements are placed on the top and bottom corners to prevent scuffing, scraping and abrasion on these high-wear areas.

L-2 RIT Bag

The ultra tough Iron-Cloth™ combined with the Heat-Shield™ Nylon 6.6 skid plate makes the L-2 one of the toughest bag on the market, top-to-bottom. The skid plate allows the bag to glide over the roughest surfaces and makes it extremely wear resistant during training evolutions. Innovative access-hatch design makes access to spare face piece and valve set quick and easy. It also features a 60″ shoulder strap, which can be re-positioned for carrying, dragging, or lowering the air bottle. Pull the side zipper and the bag expands to allow the addition of a rope bag or secure the bag to the webbing on the outside. (L-Series RIT Rope Bag sold separately. Rope bag can hold up to 200′ of 9mm Kevlar® line).

L-3 Lite Speed™ RIT Bag

Perfect for all RIT, F.A.S.T. and R.I.C. operations, the durable, impact-resistant 3D molded Heat-Shield™ Polycarbonate skid plate effortlessly handles punishing training evolutions and real-life rescues that shred other bags. The wrap-around molded body and access-hatch design protect the facepiece and valve set while letting you reach them quickly. Separate pockets for high and low-pressure lines mean a fast, no-tangle hose deployment every time, and the 60″ shoulder strap can be re-positioned for carrying, dragging or lowering. Designed to maximize ease-of-use in low visibility, high-stress situations, the L-3 Lite Speed™ is built around the mission of getting air in and the fire-fighter out as speedily and safely as possible. (L-Series RIT Rope Bag sold separately. Rope bag can hold up to 200′ of 9mm Kevlar® line).

L-Series RIT Rope Bag

The search line bag is constructed of nylon 6,6 Iron-Cloth™ fabric for enhanced performance and durability. The large hook and loop opening allows rope to be easily re-stuffed at any time. Rope Bag works with any of the True North® L-Series RIT Bags.
